Public Housing is property owned by the Norman Housing Authority for which HUD provides rent subsidies.

Qualifying for Public Housing

What are the basic qualifications for Public Housing?

To qualify for Public Housing, you must meet the following annual maximum income requirements based on the size of your family:
1 - $17,900; 2 - $20,450; 3 - $23,000; 4 - $25,550; 5 - $27,600; 6 - $29,650; 7 - $31,700; 8 - $33,750

Applications

How do I apply for Public Housing?

Applications for Public Housing must be made in person on Monday and Tuesday between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and also between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. When applying you must have birth certificates and social security cards for eveyone in the household. You must also provide a five-year rental history.

Where am I on the waiting list?

Also, it is imperative that our office have a current mailing address on file. You will be contacted by mail as to rental assistance availability. You can check our web site or call for information on the waiting list. The current wait time for public housing assistance is three to nine months.
