Effective November 17, 2025
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
will resume accepting applications between the hours of 8:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Applications will not be accepted without:
Birth Certificate: Original or Copies of birth certificates issued by a U.S. State must be provided for all persons to be living in the residence regardless of age.
Social Security Card: Valid social security cards must be provided for all persons to be living in the residence that is 6 years of age & above. (Applicant families will have a 90-day period to provide a valid social security card for any member 6 years of age or below). Letters requesting replacement cards are not acceptable.
Picture Identification: Valid picture identification, state issued driver’s license, state issued ID card, must be provided for all persons to be living in the residence 18 years of age or older.
Applications must be complete and submitted by the Head of Household or Household Member 18 years or older. Applications will be accepted by a person accompanied with a formal power of attorney for the purpose of submitting the application. Applications will not be accepted by fax, email or mail.

Section 8

The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program provides rental assistance in the form of rent subsidies to low-income families who rent from private landlords. The Norman Housing Authority (NHA) is assisting 1,185 participants under the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program.

Public Housing

You may be eligible as an individual or a family if your total household income level does not exceed the HUD established Low-Income standards for the Metropolitan Statistical Area. Your rent will be determined based on the total income of the individual or family requesting residence.

The Section 8 Waiting List will reopen on
Monday, Nov 17, 2025, and the Section 8 HCV Program will resume accepting applications at the new time: Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Due to the anticipated large number of applicants, we encourage you to pick up an application in advance, from our lobby or print from our website to have it completed prior to the day of submitting the application (along with required documents). Due to limited seating, we encourage you to not bring children or unneeded guests.
